Features & Applications
Cavitation Dynamics & Frequency Selection
Optimizing ultrasonic cleaning performance requires matching the piezoelectric frequency and power density to the contamination type and substrate material.
1. Frequency vs. Bubble Size
Physics Constraint: Lower frequencies (28kHz) create larger bubbles with higher implosion energy. Higher frequencies (80kHz+) create denser clouds of microscopic bubbles.
2. Power Density Requirements
Physics Constraint: Cavitation requires a minimum acoustic intensity threshold to overcome liquid tensile strength.
3. Temperature Dependence
Physics Constraint: High temperature reduces surface tension (improving penetration) but increases vapor pressure (cushioning bubble collapse).
Wide Frequency Range
21.5 kHz to 49 kHz frequency options for different cleaning intensities and material sensitivities
Multiple Power Options
60W to 110W power output range for compact personal devices to large industrial tanks
Typical Applications
- •Industrial Manufacturing: Degreasing metal parts, removing machining oils, flux removal from PCBs
- •Medical & Laboratory: Surgical instrument cleaning, dental tool sterilization, laboratory glassware
- •Jewelry & Watches: Cleaning precious metals, gemstones, watch components, intricate designs
- •Electronics: PCB cleaning, semiconductor wafer processing, connector cleaning, mold cleaning
- •Automotive: Fuel injector cleaning, carburetor parts, brake components, engine parts restoration
- •Consumer Devices: Eyeglasses, razors, dentures, coins, collectibles, small household items
How does frequency selection (28kHz vs 40kHz) affect cleaning performance?
Lower frequencies (28kHz) generate larger cavitation bubbles with higher implosion energy, ideal for heavy degreasing of engine blocks and metal parts. Standard 40kHz offers a balance of power and penetration for general cleaning. High frequencies (80kHz+) create microscopic bubbles for gentle, precision cleaning of delicate electronics and optics.
What is the optimal power density for an ultrasonic cleaning tank?
For most industrial applications, a power density of 10-15 Watts per liter is recommended. Complex geometries or heavy contamination may require 20W/L. Insufficient power density (<8W/L) creates 'dead zones' where cavitation fails to initiate.
Can I bond piezoelectric transducers to the bottom of any steel tank?
The tank surface must be vibration-compatible. We recommend SUS304 or SUS316L stainless steel with a thickness of 2.0mm-2.5mm for optimum resonance transfer. Thinner tanks may warp/erode; thicker tanks dampen the ultrasonic energy. Proper epoxy bonding or stud welding is critical to prevent decoupling.
