Hard or Soft PZT? Reading the Grade Table Like a Buyer
Every ceramic order ultimately reduces to one decision: how hard the element will be driven. Power duties — ultrasonic cleaning, welding, sustained resonant drive — reward hard grades with low dielectric loss and high mechanical quality factor, because loss becomes heat and heat becomes drift. Sensing and receive duties reward soft grades, whose higher charge constants and permittivity buy signal at drive levels where loss hardly matters.
The published values on our material specifications table are the contractual reference for every Yujie grade; blog articles and application notes explain the trade-offs, but the table is what your incoming inspection should test against. When two grades both look plausible, the deciding parameters are usually Curie margin over your peak process temperature and the ageing behaviour across your product's service life.
Geometry is the second half of the decision — discs, rings, tubes, plates, and spherical caps each favour particular vibration modes. If the application is new to you, send the target frequency and the space envelope; proposing the geometry is part of our engineering review, not an extra service.
