How to Select a Ring for a Real Stack

A piezo ring is not selected by frequency alone. In Yujie's engineering review, the useful question is whether the ceramic remains stable after clamping, bonding, heating, and acoustic loading. Use the notes below to turn a catalog comparison into a ring RFQ that can be tested.

Cleaning stacks

Use lower impedance ring ceramics when the tank, bonding layer, and generator can keep the ceramic inside a stable thermal window.

Ask for resonance and impedance checks after sample bonding, not only loose ceramic values.

Welding stacks

Treat the ring as part of a bolted mechanical system. Preload, horn mass, backing mass, and ceramic thickness decide whether the stack holds frequency under power.

Confirm the intended bolt layout, preload method, capacitance band, and stack-frequency target before approving a model.

Custom OEM rings

When diameter, inner hole, thickness, or electrode pattern changes, the old datasheet cannot be reused as proof of performance.

Use pilot samples to measure impedance spread, capacitance spread, and assembly behavior before batch release.
